Gamay

GAMAY pronounced (ga-may) Red grape that is the main constituent of Beaujolais, the region South of Burgundy. Long thought of as a poor cousin of Pinot Noir, it shares similar characteristics - low tannin, high acid. Capable of great complexity and detail. Now one of the last bastions of value in the wine world as an alternative to Burgundy.
